Captivating audiences with her stellar performances, Jahnvi Soni, currently seen in the role of Saanvi in Star Plus’ show Sayoneee, has quickly become a household favourite. As the nation dives headfirst into the vibrant, high-octane celebrations of Navratri, Jahnvi opens her heart about her cherished roots in Rajasthan, her childhood festive memories, and what her true festive vibe looks like when the cameras stop rolling.

Fame changes a lot of things, but for Jahnvi, the simpler days back home in Rajasthan hold a sacred place in her heart that the glitz of public recognition can’t quite replace. “I deeply miss celebrating Navratri with my family without having to constantly think about schedules or being recognised. Back home in Rajasthan, it was all about getting together, dressing up, playing garba and dandiya with friends and family, and soaking in that unadulterated festive energy. Those simple, carefree evenings are irreplaceable.”

When asked about her prowess on the dance floor during the festive nights, Jahnvi trades celebrity perfection for relatable, joyful candour.
On whether she’s a pro or a fun-loving rookie, she says, “I am definitely an enthusiastic beginner! I enjoy dancing far more than worrying about getting every single step right. I might miss a few beats or accidentally whack someone’s sticks a little too enthusiastically, but at the end of the day, I am always having the time of my life.”

No Indian festival is complete without its signature culinary delights, and for Jahnvi, one specific traditional sweet acts as an immediate time machine back to her childhood. “For me, it has to be Malpua. It instantly transports me straight back home and to the warmth of family celebrations. There is something intensely comforting about indulging in traditional sweets during Navratri surrounded by the people you love.”

Balancing the demands of festive aesthetics with the absolute necessity of comfort on the dance floor, Jahnvi strikes the perfect style note.
“I adore traditional ethnic wear, especially during festivals, so I would always choose to dress up. But comfort is equally crucial because you want to dance, let go, and just be yourself. My mantra is simple: festive, colourful, and traditional, yet comfy enough to dance the night away!”

Every dancer has that one track that magically summons a second wind, no matter how exhausted they are. On the song that always gets her moving, Jahnvi says, “‘Dholida’ is undeniably my ultimate anthem. The very second it starts playing, my energy automatically surges back. It is practically impossible to stay still once that beat drops!”

Summing up her mindset for the festive season this year, Jahnvi speaks about her ultimate mantra for the season. “This Navratri is all about celebrating with a deeply grateful heart, dancing like nobody is watching, and weaving brand-new memories while staying tightly anchored to the traditions that feel like home.”
