Actress Moon Banerrjee, who has been part of shows like Chashme Baddoor, Abhimaan, Ghar Ek Mandir, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Muskaan, Sasural Simar Ka 2, and Doree, is excited about her upcoming show on Colors, Noyontara produced by Peninsula Pictures. The actress, who is back on screen after a break, says that she cannot wait to see how people react to her on screen.

“I am so excited and happy as I will be on screen after a long gap and I can’t wait. My character in the show is the only character, apart from the main leads, both male and female, who is positive. All the other characters are negative and grey. I was approached for another role which was a cameo but later I got selected for this one as the makers felt I suited this role perfectly,” she says.

She adds, “My character Paulomi is all about love and longing, she’s loving and comforting. She doesn’t have her own child but she’s mother to all the children in the family. Everyone calls her “chhoto maa’ which in Hindi means chhoti maa. She has a backstory which is very interesting but that’s the hidden card which can be revealed only when the show starts. There is a certain longing in her eyes, a craving which she puts under the carpet and masks it with regular daily chores. But sporadically, it will keep showing up.”

Talking about what she loves about her role, she says, “I fall in love with all the characters I play. I love everything about this character. I am in love with it so that I do absolute justice to reveal her to my audience with utmost honesty. The only difference is that here I play the hero’s kaaki and not mom as mostly I play mum to the hero or the heroine,” she says.

Meanwhile, talking about how her preparations for roles have changed over the years, she says, “Now we have readings and preps, unlike back then when we would straight away go on the floor.”

Best of luck!!
