I don’t believe supernatural powers exist: Namik Paul

Dashing and charmer Namik Paul, who is known for his angry young man avatar Shravan in Ek Duje Ke Vaaste, will be seen in a romantic supernatural thriller Ek Deewana Tha soon airing on Sony Entertainment Television.

The actor will play the character of a ghost in the upcoming show. On the press launch event, Namik spoke about his character, new challenges and more.

Tell us something about your character…

You are asking a question which I can’t answer because you have to watch the show to understand my role. I can just share that I am playing the character of Shiv. The show is a romantic thriller with a supernatural twist to it. Audiences will see me in a new avatar. I am really excited as we are bringing something new to the table and we hope audience will like it.

Do you believe in supernatural powers?

I do not believe in the existence of supernatural powers. I am completely anti to the concept of ghosts and supernatural powers.

Can you tell us more about your shooting experience?

We do have hectic schedules but we are really enjoying the same. It is a wonderful experience to work along Vikram Singh Chauhan and Donal Bisht. We gel really well. The maker briefed us on the storyline and we all really liked it. That’s how we all immediately came on board. I think this story was written for us. I feel it is a perfect casting for this daily.

As popular show Ishqbaaaz is at the same timeslot as yours (10 pm), so are you ready for the competition?

I think what Nakkul Mehta (Shivaay in Ishqbaaaz) did was very gracious, the way he congratulated our producer and the team. It shows how secure he is. It is such a nice gesture. It shows that you don’t need to tell bad things about each other. I hope they continue to do well as it is one of the top rated shows. I hope our serial also does great. I feel there is space for both the shows as they are in completely different genres and have different concepts. I feel there is no competition. Our show’s story is unique and we believe in our product.

Good luck Namik for your new venture!
