Actor Souradeep Roy, known for his acting in Pherarimon (Colors Bangla), Bodhua (Star Jalsa), Compass (Star Jalsa), and Besh Korechi Prem Korechi (Zee Bangla) talks about embracing a successful acting career in the Bengali entertainment industry.
He said, “I am a dedicated and passionate actor with over 3.5 years of experience in the Bengali television industry. Over the course of my journey, I have had the opportunity to work in several popular television serials across leading channels. These projects have helped me develop a strong on-screen presence, versatility in performance, and a deep understanding of character portrayal.”
He continued, “Beyond acting, I am also a creative entrepreneur and content creator. I am the owner of the YouTube channel Third Eye Creation, which has grown to a strong community of more than 287,000 subscribers. Through this platform, I explore storytelling, direction, and digital content creation, consistently engaging with a wide audience.”
“Additionally, I am actively involved in stage and conceptual productions. I have been directing the annual Mahalaya production for the past nine years, bringing mythological storytelling to life with a fresh creative vision each year. My work in this space reflects my passion for direction, music conceptualisation, and overall production design,” he added.
Talking about his challenges, he shared, “I don’t have any godfather in the industry, and no one in my family comes from this background—I’m the first to step into acting. Of course, that makes the journey more challenging. Every day brings new competition and new hurdles, but that’s what life is about. I’m giving it my best. I’m learning something new every single day and constantly working on myself to become a better actor.”
Ask him about exploring new horizons with Hindi projects, he replied, “I’m definitely open to it—why wouldn’t I be, if I get the opportunity? I’m continuously working on grooming myself, so if that chance comes in the future, I’ll absolutely take up a Hindi project. And yes, I do have the desire to move to Mumbai.”
“With skills spanning acting, direction, video editing, and music sense, I strive to create impactful performances and meaningful content across both traditional and digital platforms. I continue to grow as an artist, aiming to contribute significantly to the entertainment industry.”
Finally, discussing the impact of social media on an actor’s career. He mentioned, “Honestly, I may not be the best person to comment definitively on this. However, from what I’ve observed and heard, social media has become extremely impactful today. Earlier, it wasn’t as prominent, but now it allows people to connect much more easily and directly. I believe it’s also influencing casting in a significant way, creating more visibility and opportunities for artists.”
