Adhik Mehta the talented young actor who has entered the Anupamaa family recently, comes across to be quite confident in his craft as a performer. After his recent stint in Choti Sarrdaarni where he got all the recognition in the role of Karan Singh Gill, Adhik has joined the cast of Anupamaa, on Star Plus.
He is a vital part of the Kapadia family, and is the brother of Barkha Ankush Kapadia (Ashlesha Sawant).
Says Adhik, “I was supposed to play Samar in Anupamaa. But unfortunately, that did not happen. But destiny paved a path for me to enter the show. I am glad to be playing Adhik Kapadia in Anupamaa.”
From Bepanah Pyaar to the present time, Adhik has enjoyed his three years run in the TV industry. Talking about the character Adhik in the show, the actor states, “Adhik is an amazing character. The brief given to me by Rajan Sir was that Adhik can be grey, black, white, orange. Basically, there is a lot to play with in the role. I have not played this kind of role earlier. I am giving my 100 per cent, and am getting a good response from fans.”
Adhik is happy that he has been amid great co-stars in his shows. Recollecting the time he has spent with Anita Raj ji in Choti Sarrdaarni, Adhik avers, “She gave me one piece of advice. She said, You can have bad days in acting, but never in one’s behaviour. I have kept this in my mind always. My confidence and experience as an actor have increased with time. Even now, I am amidst senior actors, and I am enjoying it.”
Adhik is doubly happy as he has a performance-oriented role to play. “There are different ways of perceiving my role. As for me, I am following my sister and can do anything for her. For a few, he can be visualized as a negative character, coming in between Anuj and Anupamaa.”
“I want the audience to accept what I do in the show. Also, I want my mother to get the feeling that I am good as an actor (smiles),” he states.
“The need of the hour as Adhik is to be totally out-of-the-box. I am enjoying playing him. Also, Pakhi and Adhik sequences have been appreciated. So we are working hard. Muskan is an amazing co-star. We have very good chemistry onscreen. As we perform more scenes together, we will get more comfortable with time,” Adhik explains.
Adhik is a huge fan of Hrithik Roshan. “I have always been inspired by Hrithik Roshan. He is my role model. From childhood, I have been having his posters all over my room. I got into acting by following his footsteps.”
