The small screen is buzzing with anticipation as a major leap and high-voltage twists are about to reshape the narrative in Star Plus‘ show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, produced by Balaji Telefilms. At the centre of this whirlwind is actor Sohil Singh Jhuti, who plays Parth. For Sohil, the sudden evolution of his character isn’t just a plot point—it’s an exhilarating creative hurdle.
“It is challenging, but that’s the best part for an actor,” Sohil shared, opening up about the show’s recent trajectory. “To get challenged, to embrace it, and to bring the best out. It feels like I am playing two roles in the same timeline in the same show.”
Playing a grey-shaded character can easily become overwhelming, especially when the character was introduced as a sweet boy. However, Sohil reveals his strategy is to keep things simple rather than overthinking the character’s long-term motives. “Honestly, I am taking it scene by scene,” he explained. “I don’t want to build too many things in my mind for the grey shade of Parth. What happens is, if an actor thinks too much about a character, he can get confused. So, I go with the flow, read the scene, and react.”
Being on set with these legendary actors around me—doing scenes with them, learning from them and from the director—has always uplifted me.
Sohil credits the collaborative environment on set for helping him flesh out these nuances. “I add to what the writer has written. A special thanks to my director, Muzzu Sir, who helps me add things. We sit and work it out together.”
When it comes to the current plot dynamics, the cards are finally on the table regarding Parth’s ultimate goal, particularly his transactional relationship with Ria. “Everyone knows by now that Parth wants the property back, and he takes Rio’s help to get it. It is a deal between them,” Sohil noted. But for fans trying to guess the endgame, he warns that the predictable path ends there. “We don’t know what is going to come next. Expect a lot of twists and turns.”
Reflecting on his time with the show, Sohil expressed immense gratitude for the professional and personal growth he has experienced, largely due to the powerhouse talent surrounding him. “The journey has been fantastic; it has helped me a lot as an actor,” he said. “Being on set with these legendary actors around me—doing scenes with them, learning from them and from the director—has always uplifted me. It has brought a positive change in me as a performer. I’ve especially watched and learnt a lot from Smriti Ma’am.”
Sohil is keeping his lips tightly sealed about the pre-leap climax and the post-leap, choosing to let the episodes speak for themselves. “I wouldn’t talk much about the leap,” he teased with a smile. “Just keep watching. You are going to love it—the twists are going to be epic!”
