Actor Aanchal Khurana, who has been a part of shows like Tu Juliet Jatt Di, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, and Meri Sasu Maa, among others, says that she has largely shaped herself to be what she is today. She says, “As for mentorship, I have guided myself. I’ve learned everything on my own. I don’t just listen to anyone. I discuss things with people, but ultimately I do what my heart says.”

On her growth as an actor, she’s confident without being arrogant. She avers, “I have evolved drastically as an actor. I don’t take long to immerse myself in a character. I understood it once and caught it from the very first day. I think creativity is inside me. I didn’t have to work too hard at it; I believe I was born with this talent for acting.”

To anyone hoping to follow a similar path, her advice is to be grounded in hard-won reality. She says, “You need to have a lot of patience. Parties, drugs, and getting into bad company are very common in a city like Mumbai, so you have to make sure you don’t fall into that trap.”

“As an actor, you also need a second source of income because it’s not a stable job. You’re giving auditions and trying to make your way through the industry, so having a backup is very important,” she adds.

Rejection, she admits, doesn’t get easier with time; it just gets more honest. She states, “How do I handle rejection? I cry a lot, and I fight with God. I go to the temple, and I literally fight with God.”

She says one person has been her constant through her journey. She quips, “No one has been my biggest mentor or support except my elder brother. Whenever I get stuck or scared, whether it’s a legal contract, a difficult producer, or anything else, I tell my brother, and he says, “Don’t worry, I’m here; I’ll handle it.”

As for where she’s headed, she’s got her sights set high and her intentions firmly in place. “I want to win Bigg Boss and Khatron Ke Khiladi. I also want to open my own production house and produce my own films and shows,” Aanchal ends.
