Popular television actress Debattama Saha, who rose to fame with her character Anokhi Bhalla in Star Plus new show ‘Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani’, is currently playing the lead role of Mithai in Zee TV’s latest show Mithai. The show is set against the backdrop of Mathura and captures the journey of a bubbly and chirpy sweet-maker, whose name is also coincidentally ‘Mithai’.
Talking about the show, she said, “I never thought that this character would be so versatile. Mithai is a very vibrant girl and she has various shades. I believe the show’s narrative is quite different from other typical fiction shows and the protagonist has a distinct personality. She’s bringing joy to the city with something as unique as Aloo Jalebi. To be honest, I had to learn how to make Jalebis for my new show and it’s not an easy task to make jalebis. Mithai is very active hence it was physically very challenging and I had to put in a lot of effort. I even got injured while shooting but it has been a fun experience. I am pleased to see how this character develops on television, and I hope that all viewers will be able to relate to her journey.”
Recently, Zee TV made a victorious and spectacular entry into the International Book of Records for preparing the World’s Largest Jalebi of 12.8 feet. When asked about the same, Debattama added, “I was extremely thrilled when I got to know that Zee TV and Team Mithai were going to attempt making the World’s Largest Jalebi. The whole team did a wonderful job and we achieved the record. It wasn’t only enormous, but also delicious and I am happy I had some part to play in the making of it. This was the very first time I was part of a world record attempt, and it was truly such an incredible experience. I had never thought of doing something like this in my entire life and I am grateful to Zee TV for giving me this opportunity and helping all of us become a part of the International Book of World Records.”
