Vishal Gandhi, the talented actor, who entertained masses in projects like Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani and Tamanna, recently made a comeback on TV. As reported exclusively by us, Vishal entered Zee TV show Meet as Meet Ahlawat’s elder brother Tej Ahlawat. In a candid chat with IWMBuzz.com, Vishal revealed about his role, expectations, and challenges. Read on.

How does it feel to be back on TV with Meet?

It feels really amazing to be a part of Meet’s team. Actually, for a couple of years, I was going through a bad phase as I lost my Dad and it was very difficult for me to cope with the loss. I got a couple of opportunities but I wasn’t ready for that and when I was ready, lockdown happened. Hence, there was nothing. However, when I got a call for Meet show, I was very happy and immediately grabbed the opportunity. I now look forward to working with this amazing team.

What do you like the most about your character and the show?

When I got the brief of the character and read the script, I was very excited. It is a different character and as an actor, you want to perform something which is challenging. My character is slightly different from the usual ones I have portrayed so far. There are rumours on social media that Tej is a grey shade character, however, I would like to clear the air. Tej is a positive character. Talking about the show Meet, well I have been in the industry, and I can say it’s a fresh show and I feel the storyline is very exciting.

Any particular challenges you faced while getting into the skin of the character?

I would like to say that a mentally retard person and a person who has lost memory are different. There is a very thin line between this. When I had to prepare for this role, I had to keep in mind one thing, that at any given point in time don’t act as mad. Sometimes I used to get overexcited and forget about the same and go with the flow. However, my director guided me. It took me a couple of days to fit into the role. Tej is also an unpredictable guy too. There were challenges initially, however, now it is easy for me as I have understood the character well.

How has been your experience working with your co-stars Ashi Singh and Shagun Pandey?

Ashi and Shagun are amazing. Both are down-to-earth, humble, and respectful co-stars. They are also very supportive as they welcomed me warmly when I joined the cast. They made me feel comfortable on sets. I am happy working with such wonderful co-stars.

What are your expectations from this role?

This is the first time I have played such a character. My fans have seen me as a college boy or a boy next door and also seen me in a negative shade. However, they have not seen me in such a character. And the amount of compliments I am getting is amazing. The fans are surprised to see me in a different avatar. It is an overwhelming feeling. Thank you for loving me and keep showering the love.
