Melanie Pais, the talented actress has mostly been seen in glamorous roles on television. However, her recent stint in Colors’ Balika Vadhu 2, where she is seen in the role of Dr Sharda has been unique. With this role, Melanie has successfully broken the image created, that she can do only the glam roles.
Says Melanie, “I am happy and honoured to be part of this good cast of Balika Vadhu 2. A lot of thought and ideation has gone into the kind of actors they have wanted on the show. The idea of acting in this show is something that needs to be experienced.”
“Every character in the show holds good prominence and has a different backstory. For the first time, I am seeing a show in which it is not that only a few actors get to perform, while others are just made to stand with them,” she states.
Talking about her character, Melanie explains, “Sharda is the only educated woman in the village. She could have done a lot in life but has left everything to do service in the village. She will have her backstory too. She has a kind of relationship going with the main characters in the show.”
On her look and the de-glam persona in the show Melanie starts telling us with a smile, “I have never done anything like this till now. This is so different. When I did Yeh Hai Chahatein, the role though was again a doctor, it was glam. This is completely de-glam. I have donned my natural look for the show, and have hardly used any makeup for my role.”
“Honestly, I had no intention of bagging such a show. I had auditioned for something else and had hoped that it would materialize. However, I got this call for the doctor’s role in Balika Vadhu 2. When I took this up, I had no idea how the role will go. But when I had the script in my hand, I felt that the role had its prominence in the story.”
