Ishita Dixit has been winning hearts with her strong performance as Pari in Star Plus and Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa. The actress has brought warmth and emotion to the character and continues to be a familiar face among television viewers. On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Ishita opened up about her connection with Bappa, her special wish from two years ago and the one sweet she cannot say no to during the festival.
For Ishita, Ganpati celebrations are also about faith and looking back at how things have changed in her life. She recalled bringing Bappa home in Mumbai two years ago and making a simple wish related to her career.
Talking about that special Ganpati celebration, Ishita said, “Two years ago, I brought Bappa home in Mumbai for three days. At that time, my only wish was to get good work and keep moving forward in my career. I wasn’t asking for anything extraordinary. I simply wanted to stay in Mumbai and continue working instead of having to go back home. Looking back now, the fact that things worked out the way I had hoped feels very special. It made my faith in Bappa even stronger because I felt that my wish had genuinely been heard.”
This year, the Anupamaa actress wants to focus less on worrying about what comes next and more on trusting the process. Ishita admitted that she often puts pressure on herself when it comes to work, career and life.
She shared, “This year, I want to ask Bappa to help me let go of the pressure I put on myself. I think I worry a lot about work, my career and what is going to happen in life. Sometimes we spend so much time trying to control everything that we forget to simply live in the moment. So, I want to surrender that anxiety to Bappa and trust the process a little more. Whatever is meant for me will find its way to me, and I want to have the faith to accept that.”
When it comes to Ganesh Chaturthi food, Ishita does not need much time to pick her favourite. For her, it has to be the classic modak, especially since it is considered Bappa’s favourite too.
“Without a doubt, it has to be modaks! I feel like you can’t really celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi without having modaks, especially because they are Bappa’s favourite too. I do enjoy them during the festival, and I honestly don’t believe in being too strict with myself during such special occasions. I do have to be mindful of my fitness and what I eat, but I feel it’s also important to enjoy these little festive moments. So, when Bappa is home, I definitely allow myself to have my modaks without feeling too guilty!”
For Ishita, Ganpati is therefore not just about celebrations but also about faith, gratitude and enjoying the little moments. This year, she hopes to welcome Bappa with the same belief while learning to put less pressure on herself and enjoy the present.
