Television’s popular face Aneri Vajani, known for her memorable roles in Anupamaa, Beyhadh, and Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, is all set to make her Gujarati film debut with the upcoming family entertainer Jai Kanhaiyalal Ki…! The film’s motion poster was recently unveiled, creating quite a buzz among fans and within the Gujarati film fraternity.
Talking about what drew her to the project, Aneri shared,
“My parents always wanted to see me in a Gujarati film, so when this project came my way, I instantly said yes. It’s something that feels very close to home, and I have been waiting for the right story and the right role to make this move. As an actor, I believe timing matters, and this felt perfect.”
Aneri added that she finds Gujarati cinema increasingly exciting. “Gujarati films are gaining immense popularity not just regionally, but across India and even internationally. The stories are fresh, relatable, and packed with emotion, which makes it an exciting time to be a part of this industry. I’ve always enjoyed watching Gujarati films — they have a certain charm and heart that stays with you.”
After a brief break from television, the actress is now back in action and eager to explore diverse opportunities. “During my short break, I focused on improving my craft and also travelled a bit — it gave me time to reflect and recharge. Now, I am back in action and excited to explore every medium that challenges me creatively,” she shared.
However, Aneri makes it clear that her love for television remains strong. “I love doing daily soaps also, but I have been wanting to try new things. Still, if anything good comes up for TV, I will never say no — that’s where people have known me, and it will always be special,” she smiled.
Known for portraying layered and relatable characters, Aneri believes this is a golden phase for performers. “The audience today is very intelligent and exposed to a wide range of content. With the OTT boom and the kind of stories being told across languages, this is truly the best time to be an actor. I’m curious to see where this journey takes me after Jai Kanhaiyalal Ki…!.”
