Manish Chawla, the young and talented actor, is currently leaving no stone unturned to entertain the masses as Rishi Kumar in the Star Bharat show Woh To Hai Albelaa. In conversation with IWMBuzz.com, the actor spoke in length about his role, challenges, bond with co-stars on set, and more.

How has your journey been so far in the show?

It has been an amazing journey so far. I had always heard good things about the production house (Director Kut’s Productions) and they truly live up to their name. I feel blessed to be part of this show and associated with the production house. My co-actors and technicians are very friendly with me and make me very comfortable on set.

What is the best part about playing this character?

My character is out and out negative so there is plenty of scope for me to perform. This is the best part about playing Rishi in this daily. It gives me the opportunity to explore more and grow as an actor.

How challenging is your role?

It has been challenging because in real life I am very simple and grounded. I don’t relate to the character as I am far away from any negative traits which my character possesses.

You have been winning appreciation for your role. How does it feel?

I am very happy with the response my character is receiving. My team on sets is really loving my work. Fans of the show love to hate me because of the torture my role is giving to the leads of the daily soap.

Do negative comments from fans affect you?

I get some nasty comments and they do affect me. But I feel with time and more experience I will learn to deal with it. Also, I believe that if you start getting hate comments on social media then somewhere you are doing justice to the negative character.

How has your experience been working with your co-stars?

Shaheer Sheikh and Hiba Nawab are amazing co-stars. But with Khushwant Walia I have the best rapport on set. He has been a great friend and a guiding force to me.

What is the kind of genre you would want to explore as an actor?

I would like to pick up any role which takes me out of my comfort zone.

Any final message?

I would like to say thank you to all who are appreciating my work. Just keep showering your love on my character. I have just started my journey and will need more support and love from the audience.
