International Men’s Day, observed all over on 19 November, is a special day to herald the indispensable contributions of men in day-to-day life. The day opens the scope for a collective talk on the well-being of men on all fronts. The thought about working together as males and females to bring about a co-existence where there are better gender relations and equality, also comes across on this day. Today, we have actress Nishi Saxena, who is seen in the role of Nandini in Zee TV’s Vasudha, sharing her thoughts on this special day. Vasudha is produced by Arvnid Babbal Productions.
Nishi Saxena speaks about the roles and designations that men hold in day-to-day life, “Men play countless roles in our lives, as guides, protectors, partners, friends, and often the silent pillars who hold everything together. Yet, despite carrying so much responsibility on their shoulders, their emotional needs are frequently overlooked or dismissed because of society’s expectations.”
Talking about the day’s significance, she states, “This International Men’s Day, I feel it’s important to pause and acknowledge the emotional depth men carry within them, their fears, their vulnerabilities, and their unspoken battles. We must remind ourselves to offer them the same empathy, patience, and understanding that they so readily extend to others.”
Calling out against the stereotypes seen around, Nishi avers, “It’s time we move beyond rigid stereotypes of what a man ‘should’ be and instead celebrate the men who inspire us with their quiet strength, kindness, resilience, and their beautiful capacity to love and support. Let’s appreciate them not just for what they provide, but for who they are at their core, human, sensitive, and deserving of warmth and compassion.”
Happy International Men’s Day!!
