Ishita Dixit is marking two years of playing Pari in Star Plus and Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa, and the actress has every reason to be proud of the journey that the character has had. With her consistent performance, Ishita has been able to make Pari a familiar face to the viewers of the show. It’s even more special for her because when she first signed on to do the show, she never thought the character would be such an important part of her career.

For Ishita, the journey with Anupamaa has been full of learning and new experiences. Her focus entering the show was playing her part and doing her best, she said. She did not know that Pari would eventually become a character that audiences would recognise and connect with.

Looking back at her entry into Anupamaa, Ishita said, “I didn’t expect to complete two years with Anupamaa when I entered the show. I didn’t even know that for me, for the audience and for people watching the show, Pari’s character would become so important. I never imagined that everyone would recognise her and that people would know me because of Pari. So, this is something very new for me, and honestly, it is a very good feeling.

She added, “When you start a show, you don’t really know where the character is going to take you or how people are going to react to you. You just focus on doing your work and giving your best. But with Pari, I have seen that connection grow slowly, and that has been really special for me. It has also given me a lot of confidence because when people recognise your character and talk about your work, you realise that something is reaching them.

“And yeah, I mean, it’s just the start of my career. I feel I still have a lot to see and a lot to learn. There are so many things I want to explore as an actor and so many different characters I want to play. So, I don’t want to think that this is it. This is just one very important chapter for me, and let’s see what comes next. I’m just glad, I’m very happy. Two years, yeah, it’s a nice, good feeling.”

For now, though, Ishita is enjoying this moment. Two years as Pari have given her an experience she did not see coming when she first entered Anupamaa. The actress has also found a growing connection with the audience, making this milestone all the more meaningful for her.
