Talented actress Vaibhavi Kapoor is flourishing well in her negative avatar on TV right now. She plays the role of Jyoti, in Star Plus’ Imlie who is hellbent on separating Aryan (Fahmaan Khan) and Imlie (Sumbul Touqeer).
Vaibhavi who has earlier worked with Gul Khan’s 4 Lions Films in Yehh Jadu Hai Jinn Ka is all praise for the concepts that Gul Khan puts up for TV. “Gul Ma’am is one of the finest directors and producers. The style of her work is very different. When you see all of her shows, it gives a different kind of richness. The production house is superb. I am lucky and thrilled to work with them again in Imlie.”
Vaibhavi is happy with the tag of being called ‘Jodi Breaker’. “It is fun playing the Jodi Breaker on TV. You get to play so many different shades in one role. Jyoti is a very colourful character. I am glad to be playing this.”
“The feedback that I am getting for the role of Jyoti is good. People love my dialogue ‘Universe meri sunta hai’. They call me a very cute villain. I am happy that the audience has accepted me as Jyoti,” she shares.
Vaibhavi loves it when she is shooting with Sumbul Touqeer and Fahmaan Khan. “It is always fun shooting with Fahmaan and Sumbul. I know Sumbul for a long time. We are shooting together again after five years. She is still the same. Offscreen we three of us bond really well.”
Ask her whether she will want to get back to playing the good samaritan roles, and she states, “Yes, it will be nice to play the good roles again. Earlier in my career, I have done quite a lot of good character roles. The dynamics change when you play a negative character. I am loving this experience as I play the baddie. Having said this, I would love to do a positive role after this one.”
