Poorva Gokhale fulfilled one of her dreams of wearing a uniform on-screen when she grabbed the cop’s role in Star Plus’ Yeh Hai Chahatein produced by Balaji Telefilms.

Says Poorva, “In today’s time, the kind of shows we see on television, they are more close to Anupamaa. I have been offered many roles like that post Tujhse Hai Raabta. So eventually, I had to pick something. This role in Yeh Hai Chahatein was a very good break for me after three years of Raabta. I wanted to get out of that character of Anupriya and bag something different.”

How was it to play Tabu of television with this track resembling Drishyam? “Yes, even I know that the story was of Drishyam. I obviously have seen the film. I revisited it and saw how Tabu handled the role. But on TV, it is not possible to do what you can do in films. There have to be a lot of variations on TV. I hope I have been able to convey what the role required.”

“I was waiting to don any kind of uniform and bag a role like that. Yes, it was great wearing the uniform for Yeh Hai Chahatein,” she adds.

Are you game for the format of the web? “Yes, in fact, I have been getting offers. But when you are into a TV show, you cannot manage the dates. Also I am not a person who will want to manage a lot of work at the same time. I am open to everything as of now.”

“I am capable of choosing what is good for me. I have waited and picked up the most impactful of roles. So I hope such an offer comes across on the web too,” she explains.

“I am happy that Yeh Hai Chahatein happened, even if it was a brief time. It was great working with Abrar and Sargun. I got a very warm welcome on the set. It was enjoyable working with Balaji Telefilms again, after 13 years with Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki. After that, Balaji did not happen. So I was excited,” states Poorva.

Best of luck for your next!!
