Simple Kaul the actor and entrepreneur, partners with Mohit Malik’s wife Additie Malik, and owns many restaurants, which have over time, become popular for the kinds of cuisines they provide. Today, being Halloween Day, Simple talks of hosting a Halloween Party at one of her restaurants and about the norm usually followed on this day.
Halloween Day is celebrated, on the evening before All Saints’ Day (All Hallows’). The celebration marks the day before the Western Christian feast of All Saints and initiates the season of All Hallow Tide, which lasts for three days and concludes with All Souls’ Day. In today’s time, this Western special Day is celebrated in India as a time and moment when people dress up and visit other homes for a treat, with parties thrown with an eerie and spooky ambience too.
Says Simple Kaul, “In all our restaurants, we always decorate for Halloween, play good music, and serve Halloween-themed drinks. We do this every year.”
On the celebration at her restaurant 1BHK this year, Simple says, “This year, we are hosting a Halloween party in one of our restaurants in Vashi called 1BHK. It’s going to be a Hollywood undead theme, and everyone is expected to be dressed in Hollywood costumes and makeup. I’m excited about it.”
Talking about her favourite costume for the spooky day, Simple shares, “My simplest Halloween costume would be a catsuit with a mask and minimal makeup because I want to look beautiful and sexy, not too scary. I recently posted a video on Instagram where my friends and I wore a white bedsheet with sunglasses to make it look spooky and funny. We stood there with candles, acted as if we were drinking & eating pizzas and gave high fives in our ghostly attire.”
She further adds, “If I wanted to do something spooky, I’d pretend to be a ghost. I would do something with the eyes, play with lighting, and scare someone suddenly in a dimly lit area where people are least expected & then have a laugh about it later.”
