Adele recently said that James Corden, a TV host, and actor, gave her singer Celine Dion used chewing gum as a gift, and he has now justified the unusual gesture. “My family, (Adele), her son, and I went on a brief vacation away to Mexico. We shot (‘Carpool Karaoke’) the weekend prior, and we spent the weekend together,” he continued.

“Then I was filming ‘Carpool’ with Celine Dion, whom Adele adores, the following Friday.” Corden quipped that Dion thought he was insane when he wanted to keep her gum, according to femalefirst.co.uk. The TV personality also revealed that he pulled a piece of paper from a script to keep it secure.

“I took off a piece and she put it in and I said, ‘Don’t,” he remarked on “The Late Late Show With James Corden.” “I’ll do it,” she said, indicating that she was about to fold. ‘I’ve got it, I’ve got it, I’ve got it,’ I said. I immediately had to hand it over to (show producer Diana Miller), and I told her, “I need to keep this really safe.”

And she took it and said, ‘I guess this is the day he goes insane.’ ‘Please keep it safe,’ I told them. Then I presented it to (Adele) as a birthday present. She’s one of those people who is difficult to shop for.

In Vogue’s ’73 Questions’ video series, which was taped at her home in California, the 33-year-old actress made the disclosure after being asked what her “proudest possession” was.
