Karishma Sawant, who enthralled one and all in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, has gained immense ground as a performer with all the experience she has attained!! She will now be seen in Kutings’ upcoming web series on the popular digital platform, along with lead actor Shehzad Shaikh, who was last seen in Sindoor Ki Keemat.
We at IWMBuzz.com talked to Karishma exclusively to know about her feelings on her new beginnings.
Karishma said, “I am truly honoured and grateful to be welcomed into the Balaji family. It has always been a dream of mine to be associated with such a prestigious production house. I remember spotting Baa from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi when I was a child, in my area. I asked her, ‘Aap TV se bahar kaise aagayi?’. She had replied, ‘Aapse milne!’. That moment has stayed with me. Today, I am incredibly proud to be a part of this amazing journey.”
She went on to say, “Talking about my new beginnings, my journey as an actress began with my first show, where I humbly referred to myself as a ‘learning actress’. Today, with my second show, I am proud to leave that tag behind and confidently say that I am Karishma Sawant, the actress. The journey has been filled with hard work, learning and perseverance. This time, I am exploring a new platform, not TV, but web series and YouTube.”
“It is a delight to be a part of a project like this. Working with my team and my lead, Shehzad Shaikh, has been an absolute pleasure. As for the release date, I am unable to disclose it at this time. I can promise that it will be very soon. My fans have always been a pillar of support for me, and I want to give that love back through this show and many more in the future. Also, wishing everyone a wonderful Diwali. This year’s Diwali is especially meaningful for me, and I hope it brings joy in life to you all as well,” she said about her upcoming project.
She is happy to have got a co-star like Shehzad Shaikh. “Working with Shehzad has been an absolute joy. He is not only talented but also such a pleasure to work with, both on and off the camera. His comic timing is truly exceptional. It is a rare quality to witness in people. He brings a unique energy to every scene. I could not have asked for a better co-actor.”
Getting back to celebrating the spirit of Diwali, she said, “Diwali is a beautiful time of celebration and togetherness. My mother makes Besan Laddoo, Kaju Katli and other delicacies. I live every day to the fullest, embracing each breath and moment as it comes.”
