At the emotional core of the show is Srinivas, played effortlessly by the seasoned actor Rajendra Chawla. Reflecting on his character, the actor opened up about the deeply personal connection he shares with the role, revealing how it mirrors his own life and upbringing.
For him, playing Srinivas isn’t just another acting assignment—it is a deeply personal journey that hits incredibly close to home. “This character of Srinivas closely resembles that of my father,” Rajendra shared emotionally. “My father lived his entire life taking care of his children and gave us a good future. In the show, Lakshmi and Srinivas are doing the same thing for their family. So, for me, this is not just a role; it identifies a lot with my father. That is the standout truth of this character for me, and it guides how I play him every single day.”
When asked what practical advice he would personally give to his on-screen character, Rajendra didn’t mince words about the need for some tough love. “If I had to give Srinivas some practical advice, it would be: ‘Kick your sons out of the house!’ They are very selfish. To make them realise the value of family and hard work, he realistically needs to send both of his sons out of the house to fend for themselves.”
Rajendra also spoke highly of his on-screen partner, Manasi Joshi Roy, praising her immense talent and the rich artistic legacy she brings to the set. “She is a remarkably knowledgeable actress who comes from a rich family legacy. Coming from a strong theatre and film background, acting is truly in her genes. Her father is a legendary director who gave an entirely new direction to Gujarati theatre, and her husband is an equally fantastic actor. Working alongside someone with that kind of pedigree is an absolute joy.”
With wedding bells ringing in the show, Rajendra expressed his warmth for the upcoming nuptials between Veer and Radhika, highlighting the ideal bond the couple shares. “Veer possesses all the wonderful attributes that a perfect son-in-law should have. Srinivas and Lakshmi truly feel that Radhika deserves a husband who will shower her with love and respect all her life, and Veer is exactly that person.
