Ruchi Savarn aka Disha of Zee TV show Kumkum Bhagya was busy with her upcoming Marathi film before Coronavirus stopped everything in it tracks “ I can’t disclose anything except it is the third part of a super hit franchise. While we need to get back to work, it is a tricky situation, but something needs to give as million of household depend on industry functioning,” says she on shoot resumption efforts.

Talking about her two and half years stint with Kumkum Bhagya, Ruchi adds,“ I enjoyed every bit. My character finally ended in December last year. Every good journey must come to an end.”

Ask about fan anger with Doosri Peedi and she says, “The story has to evolve. Audience always takes time to warm up to newer characters. But now I am sure Prachi (Mugdha Chaphekar) and Ranbir (Krishna Kaul) have made space in viewers’ hearts .” She also was a part of Kumkum Bhagya spinoff Kundali Bhagya.

Ruchi credits the story and having an excellent team for the continuing success of Kumkum Bhagya, “When so many pure souls band together magic automatically happens.”

Ruchi who has been around the TV for over a decade (starting with Pyaar Ka Bandhan 2010) is happy with her slow and steady career growth. “I take each day as it comes. Who would have thought five years back that COVID- 19 would wreak so much destruction in 2020?

In closing, Ruchi says that she is also game for light-hearted web concepts like Panchayat, “which brings a smile to your face. Dark themes make me uncomfortable.”
