As the autumn chill sets in and the spooky season of Halloween arrives, shadows lengthen, and the boundary between reality and the supernatural feels just a little bit thinner. Into this eerie atmospheric setting steps Raghav Tiwari, who takes on the lead role of Veer in Zee TV’s popular family drama Lakshmi Niwas, produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms.

On the occasion of Halloween, Raghav opens up about his fascination with the dark, the mysterious, and the thrill of storytelling. When asked about which iconic figure of the dark he would choose to become for a single day, Raghav shares his deep-seated fascination with immortal legends and gothic aesthetics. “Dracula for sure! I’ve been reading a lot of literature and fictional books regarding the chronicles of Dracula and the origins, so it really fascinates me, and obviously, the costume looks bomb.”

The Conjuring 1 & 2 are my absolute go-to comfort scary watches for Halloween!

Reflecting on the eerie, unsettling moments that sometimes accompany late-night or remote television shoots, Raghav admits how the atmosphere can play tricks on the mind. “I have not experienced anything paranormal. But sometimes unusual silence on shoot locations, especially outdoors, does freak me out a bit.”

Delving into the craft of storytelling and what truly sends chills down an audience’s spine, Raghav explains why subtlety often outweighs sheer volume. “Giving a cold, silent, and unsettling stare, for sure, is what I will prefer to portray. As they say, ‘A silent storm carries more horrors than a loud thunderbolt.’ It’s extremely natural and much more convincing than screaming in pure terror.”

Sharing his playful side and how the spooky holiday offers a unique escape into nostalgia, Raghav reveals his go-to costume choices. “I usually dress up like Batman or Superman because they are my favourite characters from the DC comic universe.” Reminiscing about the joy of the holiday, he adds, “You only get this one chance in the whole year to be a kid again, so why miss it?”

Finally, when it comes to unwinding and embracing the true spirit of Halloween with a proper cinematic scare, Raghav names his ultimate comfort watches. “The Conjuring 1 & 2 are my absolute go-to comfort scary watches for Halloween!”

So what’s your spooky plan this Halloween, folks?
