I learnt to be patient from Siddharth and Avneet: Aamir Dalvi

Talented and experienced actor, Aamir Dalvi, is quite happy with the way his SAB TV fantasy, Aladdin – Naam Toh Suna Hoga, is progressing. All SAB TV shows, leaving Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, are quite below Aladdin’s current number.

“We started off with 1.9, came down to around 1.5, and post KBC, are now doing around 1.2. To be honest, when we started out, we always knew that we had a great product on hand; but yes, its runaway success came as a pleasant surprise to all. A good start only raises the bar for us to go a notch higher, and the entire team is geared up for that fight.”

Talking about his evil vazir character, Zafar, Aamir says, “I have used my command over the Urdu language, my diction and pronunciation, to give him an edge. I also helped refine his evil smile in my own style.”

When asked about the teenage leads, he says, “Both Siddharth Nigam (Aladdin) and Avneet Kaur (Yasmin) are not only very good in their craft, but always have a smile on their face. Though my daughter is just a shade younger than them, I still get to learn from them, how to be patient when things don’t work out. For, I have never seen them get worked up.”

“The best part about Siddharth (sport kid and actor) and Avneet (child actor) is that despite getting so much success so early in life, they have not let it go to their heads. The duo is still very grounded, e.g. they always wish us good morning. The credit for the same should go to their parents.”

“I hope that other gen-next actors are as professional and courteous as them, but luckily, most are.”

Here Aamir admits that sometimes, the story does take a pit stop or detour. “This is part of the TV game, where you start with a broad story for a couple of months. The further tracks normally meander around what works. We too have experimented or stopped at places, to see where to go. Such efforts are always a learning curve, and as long as we gain some knowledge from it, it is fair.”

This could be one more reason why the creative has delayed the return of evil queen, Mallika, played by Nausheen Ali Sardar. “From whatever I gather, I think she will return around the 100th episode (the show is currently at episode 65). It will obviously be a huge high point; hence, they will use it at the right time,” ended Aamir.
