Farnaz Shetty's South sojourn on hold due to COVID-19

Lockdown hits Farnaz Shetty's movie projects down South

The on-going Coronavirus lockdown has affected TV and film actor Farnaz Shetty’s plans to grow in the South industry. She was last seen in Star Plus show Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum.

“My debut Telegu film was supposed to have released just before the lockdown but had to be pushed back. The start of my second South film is on hold due to the pandemic. But I am hopeful that whenever the lockdown lifts, my film will be released as the producers are known names in the Tollywood circuit,” says Farnaz to IWMBuzz in a candid chat. Her Hindi debut Battalion 609 had released last year with Dipika Kakar’s husband Shoaib Ibrahim.

Any chances of you coming back to TV?

“If I get an excellent limited series then why not. I am open to good projects across mediums and languages. However, I think the chance of more South films quickly coming to my way post lockdown seems brighter. I can’t do both having to move to Hyderabad for the latter.” Farnaz’s other well-known TV projects include Veer Ki Ardaas…, Waris, Siddhi Vinayak.

Shifting gears to Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum, which she quit in Dec ember (2019), Farnaz accepts that the story had gone off tangent. “My other woman character Raima was oscillating between positive and negative. But you can/t blame the makers for the show starring Dipika and Karan V Grover was just not rating enough.”

In closing, Farnaz says she is passing time cooking, scrubbing, and watching movies.

“Being a positive person, I rather see this glass half full, i.e., I am getting time to be with family which was luxury till now given my busy schedules.”
