Zaan Khan, the talented actor known for his work in shows like Naamkarann, Jhalli Anjali, Hamari Bahu Silk and Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, has established himself as an actor via his exceptional skills.

The actor is back on-screen as Randheer in Sony TV’s latest show Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye. Set in the pre-partition era, in the year 1947, the show traces the journey of three young women – Amrit, Vashma and Radha.

Talking about the show, Zaan says, “I was mesmerized by the storyline and the character brief. Randheer is an adorable person, who believes that women should be independent. I was so pleased by the character that I requested my producers to cast me. The show is on air and fans are already going crazy about Amrit and Randheer’s love story. They have been showering love on us and I would like to thank them for their support. I am blessed to be working in the show.”

What were the preparations for the character of Randheer? “I was told to put on weight for the character. Apart from that, I have also worked on my language and dialect. I have been working on my Urdu laheza to bring the authenticity of the character. I am enjoying the learning process. Onset, we bond like family and have a nice disciplined environment,” avers the actor.

Recently, Zaan went through a bad phase during the lockdown as the producers of his previous show Hamari Bahu Silk, refused to pay the entire crew for their work. They delayed the payment for over a year and as a result, the cast and crew decided to protest outside the house of the makers and also took the legal route. Commenting on the same, Zaan shares, “Whatever happened with me in this past year has made me strong. I have become fearless. I also believe that if you are right then God is with you and no one can harm you. Whatever happened, just happened and it is all done and dusted. I wish they also get a lot of work and we too progress in life. Everyone should be happy in life. I am looking forward to life and I am over that episode. Right now, I am just focusing on my career.”

Zaan believes he has evolved as an actor. He adds, “In my first show Jhalli Anjali, I was raw. However, I have worked very hard to reach this stage in my life. I have also written few lines on my journey. It says ‘Raaton Ko Jaga Hoon, Khud Se Bhaga Hu, Himmat Di Hai Logo Ki Bewafaai Ne Toh Yaha Tak Aaya Hoon.’ I would like to especially thank my fans who have always been there with me during my good and bad days. I would like to tell them to support us in our new show and shower their love.”

Good luck Zaan!
