Sumeet Sachdev who came into the spotlight as Gomzi of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is happy and satisfied with the journey he has had in the Balaji Telefilms’ popular show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein that beams on Star Plus.

Playing the role of Mani who has stood tall as the confidante and support of the Bhalla family, Sumeet has had a good run.

Says Sumeet, “Whenever there have been any problems with the Bhalla family, Mani has always been in the picture. He is the one who has come up with solutions and has been helping them all the time.”

Talking about his character Sumeet states, “Mani is a stress-free character and has the strength to handle matters calmly. There is a lot of similarity in this aspect between Mani and my real self. I am usually a person who has quite a lot of strength and patience in real life. I will never lose my temper and have a chilled out and friendly persona.”

“The graph of Mani has been really good. There have been many high points in the character’s graph. He has been involved with the family, more after getting married to Shagun. He always propagates calmness and the entry of his daughter has also brought in many more shades in Mani. Overall, there have been many layers in the character. I will say that Mani has been a very responsible character, a person who the Bhallas have relied on. I am glad that the character is very close to what I am in real life,” Sumeet adds.

Sumeet who has played challenging roles in shows Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Yeh Meri Life Hai, Karam Apna Apna, Khwaish, Pyaar Ka Bandhan, Bandini etc feels that there is no exact formula for success on TV. “I came into Yeh Hai Mohabbatein when it was 9 months old. I am happy that I joined the cast. Whenever a show is able to inculcate a reaction, either positive or negative, and communicate well with the audience, it means it is doing a good job. The same has happened with Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. The show has always been touching the chords of viewers.”

Ask him about the new track wherein Karan Patel’s exit has brought in Chaitanya Choudhary and Sumeet avers, “We have always looked forward to the upcoming tracks in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein as actors. I am a person who keeps to himself, and do not get really affected with the changes that happen in TV shows. Having said that, Karan Patel has been a great force and energy for the show. He will surely be missed. But Chaitanya is a great guy and we have known each other for long. We have few common interests and we figured that out very soon.”

Sumeet and his wife Amrita recently went through the huge trauma of losing their unborn kid. Sumeet recollects the incident and says, “It is almost a year now since we lost our kid. It has not been easy at all. Having said this, Amrita is coping up well. Her father was very sick post this incident. And Amrita has been handling everything well. The going has certainly been tough, but we are coping up with the loss.”

Sumeet, wish you luck!!
