In a world that moves at a breakneck pace, if there is one anchor that keeps us grounded, safe, and truly ourselves—it’s friendship. Friends are the chosen family who cheer the loudest for our triumphs, stand like a rock through our lowest moments, and bring effortless joy to everyday life. Kinshuk Mahajan, who plays the role of Ganga Bacchan in Colors TV’s Bareilly Ke Bacchan, talks about being a friend’s man and also about his closest circle of friends.
For Kinshuk, true friends are those who keep things real, regardless of fame or status. “Mohit Sehgal, Sanaya Irani, and Angad Hasija are my friends for life. They never care about my star status; they give me feedback that helps me grow. In fact, they talk to me about my work too. When Bareilly Ke Bacchan started, they told me that the show is different and that they like me in the role, especially because it was very different from my earlier ones. Even when Megha Barsenge was on, they appreciated my work in it.”
Reflecting on his years-long friendships and the celebration that happens when they meet, he says, “I have known my friends for years now, so there is no need to conduct a litmus test. I am a friend-person, and the main friends for me are Angad, Mohit, and Sanaya. I have a sweet tooth, and the same is with Sanaya—so whenever we all meet, we order something and eat together.”
Feeling happy for Angad, Kinshuk says, “I am very happy that Angad is doing well in Tumm Se Tumm Tak. That is a character similar to Aalekh, and that character from Sapna Babul Ka.. Bidaai has also been a part of my journey.”
While his core trio remains constant, Kinshuk continues to build warm relationships on every project he joins. “I make a lot of friends through my work—I am very close to Akshay Kharodia of Pandya Store. All of us are like a family on the set of Bareilly Ke Bacchan. I carpool along with Ansh and Sachin, so we end up spending more time together. We have lunch together on set and have hearty conversations.”
Kinshuk believes in abundance over competition when it comes to opportunities in the industry. “I am not an insecure actor. Whoever is destined to get the role will get it. In fact, many times, I have given the contacts of my friends for roles I have been offered.”
Concluding on what keeps a connection genuine, he says, “A true friend is someone who is there for you in every situation—good and bad times. I am very good at making friendships. When I am genuine, the other person also becomes genuine to me. The ones with whom I am not able to connect well will automatically break.”
