Actor Mohit Malhotra, known for featuring in shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Sasural Genda Phool, Jamai Raja, Bhagya Lakshmi, among others, calls his mother his support system. On the occasion of Mother’s Day, Mohit speaks about the strongest constant of his life, that is his mother, Mrs Anju Malhotra.
Says Mohit, “My mother has honestly been the strongest constant in my life. No matter what phase I’ve gone through… confusion, struggle, success, setbacks… her belief in me has never changed. And I think that kind of support gives you a very different kind of strength.”
“In this industry especially, there are so many highs and lows… and sometimes all you really need is one person who sees you beyond all of that. For me, that’s always been my mother. She’s also the reason I stay grounded. No matter what happens professionally, one conversation with her brings life back to what actually matters,” he says.
He adds on, saying, “A mother’s support doesn’t always come loudly. Sometimes it’s just her silently standing by you that changes everything.”
Talking about the best gift that one can give his mother, he says, “Honestly, I feel mothers do so much every single day that one day can never really be enough. But yes, I do try to make the day special in whatever way I can… even if it’s something simple like spending proper time together, taking her out, or just being fully present without distractions. I think as you grow older, you realise parents value time and attention much more than grand gestures. And somewhere, I’ve realised the best gift you can give your mother is making her feel that all the sacrifices she made were worth it.”
