Known for her iconic television roles in popular shows like Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant, Vahbiz Dorabjee has had a graceful presence in the Indian entertainment industry for over two decades. Beyond her effortless charm on screen, Vahbiz is widely recognised for her warm, secure, and authentic nature. As the world celebrates Friendship Day, Vahbiz takes a reflective look at her 20-year journey in Mumbai.

On finding her real friends at her rock bottom, she says, “I have come a long way in my journey and have gone through a really tough phase where I hit rock bottom. I have seen a lot of people’s masks come off. I feel that when you are in your toughest times is when you will see your genuine friends. In your good times, there will be a lot of people to party with you. What matters is who is there at your worst.”

She regards her inner circle of friends deeply, saying, “First, I looked at the world through rose-tinted glasses. I have a friendly nature by default. But when the illusion broke, I understood that everyone is not a friend. As I said, what matters most is who stands by your side during your bad times. My inner circle is like a dot now, even though I socialise well. I am ever grateful to them—they are my safe space.”

Talking about the close bonds that she has made in the industry, Vahbiz states, “I have a few close friends. If you ask me about the industry specifically, one friend who is very close to me is singer Priya Patidar. We are always there to support each other and give genuine feedback.”

“When it comes to my favourite co-stars, there are quite a few! Pallavi Pradhan, Gouri Tonk, and Siddhant Karnick are very close to me. We have equally great chemistry off-screen, too. Our green room conversations range from everything under the sun!,” she chides as she concludes.
