Actor Aman Gandhi who has featured in small cameos in shows Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, Sasural Simar Ka etc, looks forward to his first major outing in a prominent character in Colors’ much-expected thriller Naagin 3.

Aman plays the role of Daksh, the person handling the finances as accountant in Chetan Hansraj’s rich household. The role is significant enough for the youngster as he is one in the gang of baddies, who have harmed the Naagin which is out for revenge.

Says Aman, “The challenge in Naagin for me was to play myself on screen. This was the exact brief that I got from the Director. Also, the nervousness came from the fact that I had to stand and enact beside hugely calibred actors like Chetan Hansraj, Rakshanda Khan, Anita Hassanandani, Surbhi Jyoti etc. However, these actors are crazily amazing, if I can term it that way (smiles). The ice was broken in quick time, and we are all part of a family now. I can’t ask for more, especially in this role which is very important for my career.”

Talking about his role, Aman states, “My character is not comparatively rich, but I can say that he is thoroughly under the influence of the rich young men. So he behaves just like them. He hangs around with them; he has turned out to be a spoilt brat. He behaves and lives life like a rich spoilt brat. Actually my focus in playing this character has been to not look and behave cruel, but to look like a wannabe character who can drink and make merry.”

It is quite a challenge for Aman to play the baddie as he is totally the opposite in real life. “I am very bubbly, laughing all over and jumping for nothing at all. I am the energetic guy who is totally positive in outlook. But fortunately or unfortunately, I have been offered the negative roles on TV. Even is Sasural Simar Ka, I played a bad guy,” he adds.

Aman has had his shares of disappointments before bagging this prime role in Naagin 3. “I was about to play the lead role in one of the shows of Shri Adhikari Brothers’ to-be-launched channel, Happii. And later, I was to enter Vani Rani as the third son-in-law of Vani. In the first case, the channel did not get launched, and in the second, the show shut before my entry happened owing to low rating. So Naagin 3 is a big show for me. I was not ready to accept anything beyond a lead or parallel lead role, but when Balaji Telefilms offered me this role, I grabbed it in a jiffy. After all, who will not want to work with this big a production house? Naagin is one of the best shows and Colors is a huge platform for any actor.”

On his expectation from his role in Naagin, Aman explains, “I want my character to get prominent; I want people to remember the character. There are so many baddies in the show, that it becomes important for an actor to get noticed. I want to come out of the shell as an actor, and show people my calibre as an individual.”

Wish you all the best, Aman!!
