On the occasion of World Earth Day, actress Shubhangi Atre, who has been part of shows like Do Hanson Ka Jodaa, Havan, Chidiya Ghar, and Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain!, shares her thoughts on sustainability and her deep connection with nature. Known for her calm and grounded personality, she believes that caring for the environment begins with small, mindful steps.

“As a nature lover, I feel a very strong connection with the environment,” she says. “For me, nature is not just something beautiful to look at; it is my escape from a hectic life. Whenever I feel tired or stressed, spending time in nature brings me peace. That is why I always try to encourage people to value and protect it.”

Talking about her personal lifestyle, she adds, “One change that has really made a difference is becoming more mindful about what I consume. I have started questioning my needs before buying anything. This has reduced waste in my life and made me more responsible. I feel when you become aware, your choices automatically start changing.”

Shubhangi also feels that public figures have an important role to play. “I believe celebrities do have a responsibility, but it should come from the heart,” she says. “When you genuinely care about something, your words carry more meaning. Climate change is something that affects all of us, so even small awareness can make a difference.”

She further shares that she is careful while choosing her work. “I always take a moment to think before saying yes,” she adds. “If something does not align with my values, I prefer to step back. For me, staying true to myself is very important.”

Speaking about Earth Day, she says, “If I could start one movement, it would be about reconnecting with nature. Once you feel that bond, protecting it becomes natural. It is no longer a responsibility; it becomes love.”
