Neha Harsora, who is seen as Sailee in Star Plus’ Udne Ki Aasha, doesn’t follow a particular process for different sequences in the show. Instead, she says that since the show encompasses a range of sequences, she goes with the flow and portrays the emotions required in relevant scenes.
Currently in the show, her on-screen sister Juhi is in love with Hawaldar Arun, but Sachin is against their relationship due to his differences with Arun. Sharing her thoughts on this, she said, “I just imagine what I would do if I were in that place. Even though I am an elder sister, I naturally feel a certain emotion with respect to whatever is happening in the scene. I take things in a particular way, and if there is something that I’m doing wrong, my director and my team always help me out with it.”
“There are scenes that obviously have a lot of layers because our show is very versatile, and many tracks are going on at the same time. It’s all about how to switch on and switch off—jo character ke liye karna padta hai (which you have to do for the character). At the same time, I feel that since there is drama, emotions, humour, and a fun factor in our show, we have to work while keeping all of these elements in mind,” she added.
Doing a daily soap means spending over 12-13 hours in character, and Neha revealed that for most of her day, she is Sailee and tends to take things in a particular way. She admitted that it does get difficult and said, “Sailee is a very sensible girl in the house. She has to make sure she is always calm and composed and that she manages and handles situations accordingly. So it does become a little difficult at times.”
“Sometimes, I even slip out of character. But again, I constantly have to keep reminding myself that this is not how I would react—this is how Sailee would react in this particular situation,” she added.
So far in the show, her most memorable day of shooting is when Sailee’s birthday sequence was shot, and they went for Mumbai darshan. She is hopeful that the audience will take a lot from Sailee and said, “She is very relatable, and many people understand the way she handles things. If there is no other way out, you really need to find a way through the problem.”
“There is no point in just thinking about the problem and crying over it. You have to face it or accept things the way they are and the way they will be around you. Accepting it, moving on, and working on it—that is something that is built into Sailee’s character, and that is what is conveyed to the audience as well,” she added.
“I feel that in Juhi and Arun’s relationship, the strongest thing is love. And I think Sailee melts there and feels that her father is right. If someone truly loves a person or something, they would never do wrong to them. And that is why Sailee decides that they should get married,” Neha concluded.
