Rohit Purohit, who is currently seen essaying the role of Armaan Poddar in Star Plus and Rajan Shahi’s popular show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, shares a heartfelt note on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Known for his intense screen presence and grounded persona off-screen, Rohit opens up about what this festival means to him and how the bond with his sister has evolved over the years.
Says Rohit, “This year, I might be shooting on Rakhi,” Rohit adds, “But no matter where I am, I always make it a point to connect with my sister. Even if we cannot celebrate in person, a video call, laughter, and a heartfelt Rakhi moment are a must. The bond remains strong, no matter the distance.”
Reflecting on his childhood memories, Rohit admits that Rakhi used to be all about fun and celebration. “As kids, Rakhi was full of excitement, sweets, and gifts. Now, it is more emotional. We both have our lives and commitments, but the essence of the festival has become even more meaningful. It is about pausing everything and just being there for each other.”
When it comes to gifts, Rohit believes in choosing things that have a personal touch. “My sister loves skincare and home décor, so I usually go for something thoughtful—something she would not buy for herself. But honestly, for her, it is the gesture that matters more than the gift.”
The actor also recalls a particularly tough time in his career when his sister stood by him like a rock. “There have been many moments, but during one tough phase when things were not going as planned, my sister constantly reminded me of my worth. Her belief in me gave me the strength when I was doubting myself.”
Here’s wishing all our readers Happy Raksha Bandhan!!
