Good-looking actor Tanya Sharma is taking the low numbers of her new Colors TV show Sasural Simar Ka 2 in her stride.
“We are doing well since we started a month back; remember, the 6.30 pm slot was dead and to get 0.8 TVR in that time band is no mean feat. There is also good time spent. I have always believed that the story is more important than the slot and we have a winner on our hand. I am never in a hurry and prefer to go slow and steady. It is always better to rise slowly rather than growing quickly and then come tumbling down,” says Tanya, who had started her acting career over a decade back with a supporting role in NDTV Imagine’s Afsar Bitiya.
Tanya further says, “Sasural Simar Ka Producer Rashmi Sharma is a past master in getting the audience to connect. so I am in a comfort zone.”
The original series had run for six long years and even jumped genre from family drama to fantasy.
Talking about Sasural, she opines, “It is one fantastic learning curve. Not only me but even the old cast (Jayati Bhatia and Dipika Ibrahim) have learnt a lot from their earlier association with this show.”
Tanya, who first gained and name courtesy with cult Star Plus show Saath Nibhana Saathiya as Meera, is happy that old hit shows are back in vogue. “No wonder the sequel of the above Rashmi Sharma Telefilm show is again doing quite well on Star Plus. I am sure we, too, will scale the rating ladder.”
Tanya further believes that her acting job has just started. “I have miles to go before I sleep. I have two OTT projects, one is with MX Player, and the other is with Sony LIV. Although I would love to dabble more with the OTT space, my options get limited as I can’t go bold,” ends the actress who has also featured in shows like Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Laal Ishq and Qurbaan Hua etc
