How does it feel to have bagged an intense character like that of Viaan in Katha Ankahee?

It is fantastic that I am getting to play a character with so many layers. It is such a complex character. So it is definitely a challenge. I am honoured and blessed to play Viaan.

How have you approached this character and what are the preparations like?

I have to give credit for the preparation to the Director and his team. We had an extended workshop and he helped me build this character. Once I understood Viaan’s psychology, I started applying all I had in my arsenal and intensified my character. During the workshop, I took the character back to different places in order to experiment with him more.

Have you watched the original of this series? What is the learning that you will want to take from the actor playing it there?

I have not watched the original. But that was the personal choice I made. I did not want to mimic anything; I have heard fantastic things about this actor. I give him all the credit, honour and praise. But I have not seen it as I wanted to give the world my interpretation of Viaan.

How is it to shoot with Aditi?

It is nice to shoot with Aditi. She is a nice person, making the whole performing part easy. She does not bring her stardom on the floor. Apart from that, she is extremely talented.

What according to you is your forte as an actor? Tell us about your strong factors as a performer.

About my forte as an actor, sorry, I generally leave that for people to judge. But I feel intense roles and emotionally scarred human beings come a bit easier to me. I love such characters.

Is there a role that has eluded you till now?

No, honestly nothing as such.

What usually inspires you in the toughest of moments that you face?

I am a very spiritual human being. So I take all my inspiration from God.

What does it take to become a complete performer? Where do you think you stand in being called one?

Flexibility. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. I don’t think anyone is born a complete actor. But I think the ability to understand that and be flexible will make you a good performer. I am still honing on the craft, I am a long way from being called one.

What according to you is the USP of Katha Ankahee?

Apart from the great ensemble of cast that they have put up, the writing is really good. It is very relevant. Direction and Cinematography are great.

How will you describe your look in the show?

I will describe my look as something very professional, and serious, but at the same time, cool and dapper.

Your message to fans will be

Please continue to show the show and actors all your love and keep watching the show.
