Toral Rasputra the talented senior actress is yet again back to Colors, her favorite acting ground with an entertaining character in the TV show, Molkki. Toral who got all popularity as Anandi in Balika Vadhu was also seen in Udaan on Colors.

In a candid chat with IWMBuzz.com, Toral talks of her new role in Molkki, her preparation and shooting amid the pandemic scare.

Excerpts:

You are back to Colors where you have had a long standing fruitful association. Tell us about your feeling.

It is always a pleasure working with Colors. I have done three shows. Balika Vadhu was a huge hit, followed by Udaan and now Molkki. I always get this warm welcome, and the feeling is that I am back home (smiles).

Sakshi is a character which will garner all eyeballs for all that she has faced in life. How did you prep for this new journey?

When we talk about Sakshi, unfortunately this time, I did not get enough time to prep for the role. Everything happened so suddenly. I am learning a lot about her and her emotions. It is going to be a beautiful journey, I am sure. I believe in going with the flow when it comes to playing a new character. Of course, the Director plays an important role in an actor’s life. It’s still early days playing Sakshi. Let’s see how it turns out to be.

What was your first opinion on the character of Sakshi when you got the narrative?

When I was given the narrative of Sakshi, I could feel the pain in her of being away from her kids for so long. The longing of getting back to her kids is quite a strong feeling in Sakshi. As an actor, I think that’s the best part about this role.

You have personally gone through a lot during the last few weeks. What has been your source of inspiration through the tough times?

Yes, I have gone through a lot during the last couple of weeks. I lost my father, at the same time I was positive for Covid. Everything was just sudden. I was shattered. My mom has always taught me that I have to keep going in life and I have to be strong. Today when I think of dad, he was so proud of me that I am an actor and I do really well on TV. I remember that when he used to go for his dialysis to the hospital, and when I used to go to drop or pick him up, he used to proudly introduce me to everyone there. So ya, that is what keeps me going. I know that I have to still make him feel proud.

How is it to work with the cast of Molkki?

They are all beautiful people. Not only the cast, but all in the crew are so warm and good people. I got a warm welcome on the show. The kids are super cute to work with.

You have a huge fan following that gets excited to see you on screen. What do you have to tell them?

For the fans, I will like to tell that they have accepted me in every challenging character I have played so far. This is a new journey for me again, and it is a beautiful character. So I hope that they like me as Sakshi, especially when she enters into the lives of Virendra and Purvi. So please continue to watch Molkki.

Do you interact with your fan base?

I am not a social media person at all. So I don’t interact with fans there. But I do read their comments and reply to them occasionally. I also do repost their stories at times. So I try to talk to them. I am working towards being more socially active. I am still trying (smiles).

Tell us about what viewers can expect in the track to come in Molkki?

Track is going to be very interesting now. For so many years, Mukhi has been into the memories of Sakshi and was somewhere waiting for her to return. But now he is in love with Purvi and wants to give all the rights of a wife to Purvi. Now when suddenly the twist of Sakshi being alive will come in front of him, the dilemma and the manner in which Mukhi deals with it will be interesting to see. For Sakshi too, it will be a very emotional journey, the love that kids shower on Purvi etc will also be a good watch.

How is the shoot ambiance now in Goa? What was the adjustments you needed to make for this shift?

Goa is one of my favorite holiday spots (laughs). But this time I am here for work. The weather is hot out here. Also, the attires that characters wear for this show are heavy and tough to carry in a place like Goa. There is a relaxed ambiance when we shoot at a fixed set. But in this situation, since we are shooting at newer locations, there is more work to be done to keep all relaxed. Adjustments are at its peak and considering that we are in Covid-hit times, we are all being very careful. At the same time, we are having fun on the set too when we have free time
