Whether it’s a brother or a sister, protection is a two-way street—a sister protects her brother just as much as a brother protects his sister.”
Reflecting on her own sibling relationship, she highlighted how maturity and distance have deepened their bond rather than driving them apart. “Growing up doesn’t mean becoming distant or caring any less. It brings a deeper understanding,” she explained. “Because of my work and his college, we live in different cities, but we’ve learned to appreciate that we are on separate paths. As you mature, you realise siblings express love differently. Even if their way of showing concern is different from yours, or expressed through silence, it doesn’t make it any less genuine. I understand his way of showing love and protection better now than ever.”
For Priya, emotional connection far outweighs physical proximity. “Emotional availability is what truly sustains a relationship because you can’t always be physically present as life gets busy. Knowing that your sibling is just a phone call away—that feeling is priceless. Physical presence without emotional support falls short, not just in sibling bonds, but in friendships and every relationship.”
