Wedding sequences on Indian television are known for their grandeur, drama, and high emotional stakes. For Zee TV’s popular show Lakshmi Niwas, produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, the upcoming nuptials between Veer and Radhika (affectionately known as #RaVeer by fans) mark a major turning point.
In a candid talk with IWMBuzz.com, Akshita Mudgal shares her excitement while shedding light on her character Radhika’s complex emotional state and what lies ahead for the couple.
Talking about Radhika’s mental state for the wedding, Akshita says, “She is heartbroken as her trust in Veer is broken. Right now, she is in a situation where she has surrendered herself and simply believes in the decisions of her parents. She is completely zoned out, heartbroken, and going through a phase of emotional vulnerability.”
“Wedding tracks are spectacular to witness. If you ask me personally, the entire wedding loop in TV shows is well-executed. It is the time to celebrate two people who want to come together; I enjoy weddings in general. But in the show, Radhika is not in the mental state to enjoy her own wedding,” she states.
One should know how to balance love and family. This is what I would like to tell the youngsters in love.
The pairing of Veer and Radhika (RaVeer) has garnered a massive and dedicated following. Akshita expresses deep gratitude for the viewers’ reception of their starkly contrasting dynamics. “I do get a lot of messages and DMs, and I appreciate the love for ‘RaVeer’ so much. These are two opposite characters who are coming together. Veer is so chirpy in life and totally committed to his love. On the other hand, Radhika is so far away from the emotion called love. She is totally attached to Niya, and love to her means only Niya. When we do scenes together, I love the fact that people love us so much. This is indeed the most-awaited wedding on the show. I am happy to see people loving us, and that is a job done for us. But the journey of RaVeer has just started, and the post-wedding phase will be very different.”
A defining trait of this storyline is Veer’s determination to fight for his love without discarding his responsibilities toward his own bloodline. Akshita believes this dynamic carries a highly relatable message for the younger generation. “People in love should take stands for the ones they love. But at the same time, they need to take their families along too. This is exactly what Veer is doing. Veer is going against everyone for Radhika, but at the same time, he is not leaving his family alone. One should know how to balance love and family. This is what I would like to tell the youngsters in love.”
Known for her minimalistic and muted wardrobe, Radhika’s transition into a traditional bride required meticulous planning. The creative team put immense effort into making her standout appearance visually synchronised with Veer. “Radhika has been simple from day one—in fact, she usually uses dull colours. Her character has been so simple that even in dream sequences, when Radhika has left her hair left loose, viewers have taken note of it. In the wedding look, she looks very different. I want to personally appreciate the looks given to Radhika. We have worked a lot on the colour coordination between Veer and Radhika to make it visually spectacular.”
