Shoaib Ibrahim, the young and talented actor, who rose to fame with the show Sasural Simar Ka and has worked in numerous other shows including Koi Laut Ke Aaya Hai, and Jeet Gayi Toh Piya Morey, Ishq Mein Marjawan, recently made a comeback on TV. He is currently seen as Rajveer in Star Bharat’s new offering Ajooni.
Rajveer is a smart Punjabi boy, who is stubborn and doesn’t listen to anyone. The daily takes a new turn when Rajveer falls head over heels in love with Ajooni and wants to marry her. Talking about his comeback, Shoaib said, “As an actor, when we sign any show, the excitement is different. I am very excited to make a comeback with Ajooni. I hope that audiences will love our show as we have worked really hard on it.”
Further elaborating on his role, he added, “The one thing that made me say yes to the project was the character. Rajveer is very different from the previous characters that I have played so far. As an actor, it is challenging to play a character that is alike to your personality and Rajveer is such a role. Hence, it is challenging as well as exciting to essay such a part. People who like to see an angry young man on screen will love my role Rajveer.”
When asked about the challenges faced while getting into the skin of the character, Shoaib mentioned, “It was difficult to get the Punjabi accent right. I have not spoken the language in my life. I also don’t listen to Punjabi music. Getting the body language right was definitely tough. Having said that, it is just during the initial phase. As and when you essay the role, you understand the process and become a pro.”
