Abrar Qazi who plays the lead role of Rudraksh Khurana in Yeh Hai Chahatein gets into an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz.com.

Actor Abrar Qazi has proved his mettle as an actor with his amazing portrayals. As Raghav in Gathbandhan, he was rugged yet charming. Presently, in Yeh Hai Chahatein, Abrar plays the role of Rudraksh Khurana who has a rock star image.

In a candid interview with IWMBuzz.com, Abrar talks of his show’s popularity, on the role and on his journey as an actor.

Excerpts:

It has been a memorable one year with Yeh Hai Chahatein. How has the whole ride been for you?

I still remember how I felt when the show started. Yeh Hai Chahatein initially started as something great and it has been continuously evolving into something better. Throughout the journey, I have felt like a traveler who experiences the joy of traveling to a new place and also learns during the process. The challenges are what make the experience unforgettable.

Do you have similarities with Rudraksh in real life?

I am a different person when compared to Rudraksh Khurana in a lot of ways. But there are certain shades of me in Rudraksh which are amplified to a point that they portray a different character sketch.

Rudraksh as a character has been layered and has seen a whole broad trajectory. Which was your best phase in terms of performance?

This is a difficult question for me. Rudraksh as a character was initially composed and flamboyant. But it has gone through a series of changes due to its dynamic social aspects. Now the character is more realistic and gravitates towards the family. I personally liked the phase of transition of the character, the in-between phase if you can term that. I have enjoyed performing each and every phase in Rudraksh’s life because you get to do different things, portray different emotions.

What’s the secret to rise in TRP post the Covid break?

Well, that’s a secret which I would want to know myself!

How is the off-screen rapport between you and Sargun?

We both are comfortable with each other as actors and off-screen she is a good colleague who is always supportive and helpful.

There is a consensus that post the break, Rudraksh and Preesha got together which was a new high. Do you agree?

The whole journey of Rudraksh and Preesha has been magical and mesmerizing. Post the break, the focus of the story has been towards gradually bringing them closer and it has certainly added a new high. Fans really love the bond between Preesha and Rudraksh a lot.

Your chemistry with your leading ladies gets appreciated. Earlier it was Shruti Sharma and now Sargun. What’s the secret to this?

Well, there is no secret about it. I have always tried to make my co-actors comfortable while working with me and moreover I enjoy my work.

Your fans pour love on you and Sargun. Do you interact with your fans?

I always appreciate them and I really love them because these people dedicate so much time without expecting anything in return. But my busy schedule limits my interaction. But I do try to browse social sites and leave a like or comment sometimes.

What is the message you want to give them?

Thanks for making Yeh Hai Chahatein what it is today. I always try to see everything like pictures, videos, DMs, editings, comments etc on various social media platforms. You people are the best and I am really lucky to have such a huge fan base.
