For Star Plus show Sairaab lead actor Krishna Kaul, staying physically active is not just about meeting the physical demands of acting—it is a lifestyle rooted in childhood memories and personal well-being. On the occasion of National Sports Day, the actor shared insights into his personal fitness philosophy, his admiration for elite athletes, and the sports habits that keep him grounded amidst demanding shoot schedules.
While many sports inspire him, Krishna admits there is one discipline he prefers to watch strictly as a spectator. “Gymnastics. The strength, balance and flexibility involved are incredible. I enjoy watching it, but if I tried even one of those moves, I would probably need a very thick safety mat!” he shared. When asked about the sport he secretly wishes he could master, he immediately highlighted football, noting, “I would love to have that kind of speed, stamina and control. Scoring a goal in a packed stadium must be an unmatched feeling.”
Krishna’s exposure to high-intensity physical challenges began early in his career during his time on Roadies, where he observed top-tier athletic drive firsthand. “Prince Narula is definitely one of the most athletic people I have seen closely. During my Roadies journey, I saw the kind of strength, stamina and competitive spirit the show demands. Prince carries all three naturally,” Krishna remarked. If given the chance to step into a professional athlete’s shoes for a week, Krishna would target cricket star Virat Kohli’s workout regimen. “His transformation and discipline have changed the way fitness is viewed in Indian sport. I would love to experience his routine for a week, although I am not completely sure I would survive it!”
Despite long hours on set, Krishna maintains a childhood passion that keeps him both physically fit and mentally agile. “I have been part of physically demanding projects like Roadies, but the habit that has stayed with me is cycling. I have loved it since childhood,” he explained. “Even with a busy shooting schedule, I try to go for a long ride whenever possible because it keeps me fit and gives me mental peace.” He added that staying active plays a key role in handling pressure, sharing, “A workout, a cycle ride, or simply spending some quiet time helps me reset. I focus on what I can learn and then start again.”
