Actress Sambhabana Mohanty, who made her TV debut with Zee TV’s soap opera Rajaa Betaa, is glad to be associating with the channel again. The beauty is currently seen essaying the role of Damini in the TV show Pyaar Ka Pehla Naam Radha Mohan which also stars Shabir Ahluwalia and Neeharika Roy. In a candid chat with IWMBuzz.com, Sambhabana spoke about her new character, show and working experience with Shabir. Read on:
What prompted you to take up the show?
Well, definitely getting back to Zee after doing a show for them was the crux behind taking up the offer. Zee is family for me. And they always come up with great concepts. I feel the pace of the show is the biggest USP. It is not dragged in any way that might result in monotony.
Do you find any similarities between you and your character?
Definitely. I believe that Damini and I have a few similar characteristics. We both are strong-willed. And I have been practicing a lot to portray this character on-screen.
Do you like essaying negative or positive roles?
As an actor, the shade doesn’t matter to me. It is more about how many layers I get to play. In future, I would like to explore any genre that is off beat. It could be a historical character or an eccentric or a strong mother or anything that gives me scope to perform onscreen.
How is Shabir Ahluwalia as a co-star? How has your experience been working with him?
Shabir Ahluwalia is absolutely amazing. He’s fun, positive, and enthusiastic. He keeps us all together which makes our work atmosphere really beautiful. I truly enjoy shooting with him and I hope our fans will shower our show with a lot of love.
If not an actor, what would you be?
I think I would be a lecturer in Sociology or a singer. I am a jack of all trades, I think.
