Actress Saachi Tiwari, who was last seen playing the lead in the television drama Prem Leela, has now joined the comedy-drama show on Sony SAB, Kyunki Papa Kehte Hain, produced by Yash and Mamta Patnaik’s Inspire Films. The actress is seen playing Simran, a Punjabi girl with a personality that is quite different from her previous character, Leela.

Talking about landing the role after Prem Leela, Saachi says, “I always choose characters that I can connect with, and that can entertain my audience. I think playing Simran brought back my memories of Anmol, and Kyunki Papa Kehte Hain is a great show. It is very relatable, and I feel blessed to be a part of it.”

While Saachi has already played a strong lead character in Prem Leela, she says there is no similarity between Leela and Simran. She explains, “There is absolutely no similarity between Simran and Leela. They are both different personalities. But what drew me immediately was Simran’s character. Also, playing a Punjabi girl was something new for me; I love playing different characters. Simran has a different spark in her. I hope the audience finds her interesting too.”

The actress also had to prepare herself for the role and understand the character before stepping onto the set. Talking about her preparation, she says, “As I said, I love playing different roles and characters, so yes, I did quite a bit of research as I do with my other roles. As always, my parents helped me as well, so it wasn’t a problem for me.”

There had been reports about an extensive search and auditions to find the female lead for Kyunki Papa Kehte Hain. Saachi says she was aware of it but chose to look at it positively. “Yes, through the articles I got to know that there was a difficulty in finding the lead actor. But I always believe that whatever is written in your destiny will eventually come to you. So I just believe that things happen at the right time,” she shares.

Working with Raj Anadkat has also been a positive experience for Saachi. Talking about her co-star and the atmosphere on the sets, she says, “Raj is a very amazing man, and he is fun to work with. He is very kind and fun. I think I am always excited to go to the set every day because I know that I will have fun working with such a great team, and we have an amazing script.”
