Known for her memorable performances in popular television shows such as Yeh Hai Chahatein, Suhaagan, etc., actress Pragati Choursiya has captivated audiences with her portrayals. Now, as she prepares to step into the next phase of her career and personal evolution, the actress is officially adopting a new identity: Gauri Chauurasia.

Opening up about her journey toward this major milestone, Gauri shares the deep-seated personal reasons, childhood inspirations, and numerological guidance behind her decision. “I never really liked the name Pragati for myself, mostly because it wasn’t given to me by my parents, but by a relative. Ever since I was 13 or 14 years old, I knew that changing one’s name was a real possibility, and it was something I deeply wanted for personal reasons.”

Taking her parents’ consent for the name change was the next step. “When I finally spoke to my parents about it, they were completely supportive, though they asked me to take my time and really think it through. Over the years, I always loved the names Gauri and Avantika. But as time went on, I felt a stronger connection to the energy and aura that the name Gauri holds, so I decided to go for it.”

On aligning her identity with numerology, she says, “I was initially very happy settling on ‘Gauri Choursiya.’ However, someone with deep numerology knowledge advised me that the complete combination wasn’t ideally suited for me. Since I was adamant about keeping the name Gauri, I asked if we could adjust the spelling to balance the energy instead. He suggested a subtle tweak to my surname that would better align with my career prospects and personal life. Now, it’s officially ‘Gauri Chauurasia.’ I am at my happiest as Gauri, and numerology is happy with the tweaked spelling!”

On stepping into the future as her authentic self, Gauri says, “As always, I look forward to continuously evolving as a human being, collaborating on meaningful projects across fields with wonderful people, and collecting new experiences. Moving forward, I want to be my most authentic, unapologetic self—the only difference this time around is that bit of extra magic and balance brought by numerology.”
