Jatin Suri has made a name for himself with his performance as Raja in Star Plus and Rajan Shahi-Deepa Shahi’s Anupamaa. He isn’t the loudest character in the show, yet he makes an impact with the calm he brings whenever emotions run high. Over time, Raja has become someone audiences look forward to watching, and now the story is about to push him into a completely different phase. With Raja and Pari set to embrace parenthood, Jatin says the coming episodes will reveal a side of the character that viewers haven’t seen before.

Speaking about the calm that Raja brings, Jatin said, “Playing a character like Raja who serves as warmth, positivity, and emotional maturity amid all the drama is such a rewarding experience, especially when the audience responds with so much love and support.”

He feels the pregnancy track naturally changes Raja’s world and adds more emotional weight to the story. “Stepping into a storyline where Raja and Pari are going to be parents brings a completely new layer of depth, vulnerability, and growth to the character.”

According to Jatin, it is Raja’s style of dealing with things that makes him different from the rest of the family. “Raja’s ability to take challenges in stride and handle tension with calm optimism is what makes him stand out. Maintaining that grounded energy during a high-stakes life transition like fatherhood will resonate strongly with viewers. Seeing Raja take charge, ensure Pari rests, and prioritise her well-being adds a beautiful, caring dimension to their relationship dynamic.”

According to him, viewers won’t just see Raja becoming a father. They will also see him trying to be a dependable husband, someone who quietly puts his family’s needs before his own.

Looking back, Jatin admitted Raja wasn’t a character he understood overnight. He says the connection came slowly as he spent more time playing him. “It takes a lot of time to understand the character and the need, and yes, it is a very important character in the show and yes in my life also. Playing Raja is amazing, close to my heart as well. The journey has been super amazing.”
