Successful TV shows are backed by brilliant writing: Khushwant Walia

Khushwant Walia, who rose to fame as Rubel in the Star Plus’ series Pyaar Ka Dard Hai, is back on-screen with Naagin 3 on Colors.

The actor, who has worked in content driven shows, feels the success of TV shows is backed by brilliant writing.

“TV shows are only about writing. We as actors give our 100% and give our best shot, but I feel the success of the show is backed by excellent writing and styling. The shows on TV which are popular on TV right now have great writers associated with it. It is also a talent to get into a running show. The characters are already established in a running show, and when you enter midway you have to connect with the audience. It happens when your character is well written,” shares the actor.

Talking about his entry in number 1 show Naagin 3, he adds, “The reason of picking up the show is that it is a number 1 show and also it is by Balaji Telefilms. We have just entered the show as a part of the new family. The character will soon shape up and audience will love the new twist and drama. This is my first show with the production house and we have bonded well. I have been auditioning with Balaji Telefilms for a long time but this show happened overnight.”

When asked about working on a supernatural drama, he avers, “I personally don’t believe in supernatural activities but since I am shooting for the show, I understand that it is not a cake walk to work in such kind of shows. It is quite difficult to imagine things and react to it. It is a good opportunity for me. This project will help my career graph.”

Khushwant wishes to work on the digital platform. “I am dying to work on web and I think everyone is completely looking forward to 2019 web shows. I like performance-oriented web shows like Inside Edge, Scared Games and Mirzapur.”

Good luck, Khushwant!
