Girija Oak is another diva from the Marathi industry who made her debut in the acting career at the age of 15. The star rose to fame with her first lead role in the Marathi TV show ‘Lajja’ where she played the role of Manaswini Desai, a scandal victim. Girija received a lot of love and appreciation for her work in her debut serial. Soon the diva made her debut with a short film ‘Quarter’ which premiered at the 71st Cannes Film Festival. Yet again Girija Oak’s work was well appreciated in the film and the actress also bagged the Best actress at European Cinematography Awards 2018.
This was a proud moment for the actress as this was her first-ever International award. The movie was digitally released in 2020 across the globe. Girija then tried to work her magic on the silver screen. Her first debut film in the Bollywood industry was ‘Taare Zameen Par’ in which she played the role of Zabeen and then later bagged the role in the film ‘Shor in the City’ as Sejal. However, for reasons unknown, the actress was only seen in 3 Hindi movies and did not really make it big in B-town. It’s truly heartbreaking that we cannot see more of such a talented actor in the Hindi Film industry. Girija was last seen in the Hindi TV serial ‘Ladies special’ playing one of the lead female characters ‘Meghana Nikade’. The actress yet again won everyone’s hearts with her stunning performance in the show.
