Handsome hunk Adhvik Mahajan, who impressed the audience with his acting chops in shows like Bani Ishq Da Kalma, Divya Drishti, Naagin 5, is back on screen in a never seen before avatar.
The dynamic star is all set to entertain masses as Jogi in Zee TV’s Amritsar based love story – Teri Meri Ikk Jindri.
The show follows the lives of Mahi and Jogi, two seemingly opposite personalities whose distinctly different outlooks towards life and happiness do not come in the way of their love.
In conversation with IWMBuzz.com, Adhvik spoke about his new character, show, co-stars and more.
What makes Mahi and Jogi’s love story different from others?
The storyline of the show is very simple, rustic and the treatment is also very real and relatable. I believe simplicity has its own strength and this story’s simplicity makes it special. Mahi and Jogi’s story will make audience fall in love.
Tell us about your character?
Jogi as a character is very different from all the other roles that I have enacted till date. There is a very colourful and peppy Punjabi side of him that I absolutely resonate with, there is also a very profound aspect to his personality that makes him different from the rest. He doesn’t dream or aspire big but manages to find utmost joy in the simplest of things.
What prompted you to take up Teri Meri Ikk Jindri?
I was looking out for a good TV show and a chance to break out from my image of Rakshit Shergill of Divya Drishti. This was an ideal opportunity and also it was for Zee, I have never worked as a lead for any Zee show so I jumped to grab it. When I heard about the concept I was eager to take it up. The storyline and character are very strong. It is a light-hearted drama, we don’t have saas-bahu masala.
How is your equation with your co-stars?
It’s been great to work with Amandeep (my co-star). We have been working for two months now, so we have become good friends. We help each other in scenes. I bond very well with my on-screen mother, dadi and niece. The casting is apt and we all enjoy and have masti on set.
How was your experience shooting in Amritsar?
Shooting in Amritsar was like coming back home. I shot with the buffalos and cows for few sequences (smiles). It was difficult initially but now there is a good equation. We shot near Golden Temple and in the farm, so it was fun. Along with paying a visit to my extended family, I also took the chance to relish and gorge on the amazing food of Amritsar. I have enjoyed every bit of being part of this city.

I would like to say that now we are all trying to come back on track after the pandemic. We have got the vaccine too. However, I wish people remember the lessons 2020 has taught us. I wish the audience love and watch our light-hearted drama.
