Mohammad Iqbal Khan, who is back on the TV screens in the role of Dr Dev in Sony SAB’s new show, Hui Gumm Yaadein, produced by Sobo Films, is grateful to his discipline with respect to exercises and workouts that he has maintained from his younger days. On the occasion of World Health Day today, 7 April, Iqbal Khan talks about the health risks and how they can be tackled.
He says, “The main need is to protect our stomach and lungs. There is too much adulteration in the food, and there is too much pollution in the air.
We can’t help with the pollution. We can reach out to the authorities to request a reduction in construction activities. On our part, we should try to steer clear of areas with heavy traffic. It’s also important to focus on eating foods that are beneficial for us and to limit our consumption of outside meals. Additionally, we should be mindful not to overeat.”
Talking about the health risk that prevails in the lifestyle we live in, he says, “The biggest health risk these days is mental health. There is too much stress on people. The best way to tackle it, easier said than done, is to have faith and believe that God is there to take care of everything. At the same time, one has to do their bit.”
Speaking about the clear advantage he holds, Iqbal says, “Having spent my early days in boarding school and engaging in various sports, exercise and working out has been instilled in me. This discipline comes relatively easily for me. However, for those who may not share the same background, it’s essential to recognise that your health should always be a top priority. Taking care of it through regular exercise and proper nutrition is crucial.
